Traffic Restrictions in Trivandrum from 2 p.m. Today

Restriction in Traffic will be in place within the city limits from 2 p.m. on Thursday to 8 p.m. on Friday as part of reducing the rush during the Attukal Pongala festival.

Tipper lorries, cement mixers, container trucks, and other heavy vehicles will not be allowed into the city limits during this time period.

The KSRTC will operate additional services during this time.

Parking will be restricted along the Attukal-Killipalam road, Attukal-Iranimuttam road, Kalady-Karumam- Thiruvallam road as these have been assigned as emergency roads. Any vehicles which comes to drop devotees for Pongala will not be allowed to be parked near the main roads leading to the temple or MC Road, MG Road or the National Highway. Those of who have planned to do so needs to be careful about this.

As part of restrictions, vehicles from Neyyatinkara, enroute to Attingal, should take a deviation from Balaramapuram and take the Vizhinjam-Poovar bypass or the beach road. Similarly, after the Pongala, the vehicles going towards Kollam area should take the bypass route or the Anchuthengu-Varkala route. Public are reminded to follow this strictly to avoid any type of congestion in traffic.
